Recommendations made to save customers money:

Example: A business has a specialized software package that runs about 1/2 of their business. It keeps track of customers' addresses. By changing the policy and the procedures involving their "Mailing Lists" they have spent about $5000 in the past 4 years and saved in excess of $30,000 in mailing expenses alone in the first year!
A recommendation of replacing an old computer with a newer used computer actually made us less money than fixing the old one, plus the person could do her job more efficiently and faster.
Putting in one of ISC's Firewall content Filtering Servers, loses money for us, but saves the average business thousands of dollars in company expensives dealing with constant SPAM, virus & spyware infections, employees extra Internet surfing.
To keep bug fixes, patches, and virus programs up to date saves you money if it only stops one virus from infecting your computer system. (We plug holes in systems not commonly know by IT people or left exposed in "store bought" computers.)
To maintain a complete spare of the server's software cost about $125 upfront and about $35-70 per year. They didn't want a backup. Server died... total rebuild was $650 and system down 2 days. (Most people call that insurance.)
They didn't listen and moved all people from a Novell system to a W2k system. Did not let us make a backup as described above. When the W2k went down, not a 1 hour restore like the Novell system but about a $700 / 2 day rebuild of the W2k system!
A company did not want to take the time to download all the "Windows bug fixes". A network aware virus came in over the WAN. 3 Accounting computers became "lunch."
